My inspiration is derived mainly from the written literature most especially the bible and some books written by renown African writers like John Ruganda and Chinuea Acheabe. This is because they give me a desire to move on and always think positively and not to accept others make decisions for me and always be my self but not to do anything to please others but rather that will benefit me, make me happy without interfering the with those around me. Being born and raised in Kenya, culture and the study of humanity has always been my inspiration. My beautiful country of Kenya has a diverse and unique set of cultural values and a heritage drawn from 42 ethnic groups. This has inspired me to think beyond Kenya and Africa, anthropology with its origins in the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences has given me a global picture. I'm inspired by the amount of strength, persistence, and resistance that people have despite what they are up against. There are many stories of resistance to colonialism but resistance to me means treating each other well and not being afraid to challenge the ways of thinking that divide us e.g. challenging racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism etc. I believe that as people we can move a lot farther ahead if we change the linear ways of thinking that work to divide us and we must see how we...
